Our Purpose as a Church
WE ARE CALLED TO DO THE THINGS GOD IS DOING (healing, reconciling, creating a new order of peace and harmony)
BY DISCIPLESHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST (Jesus is “God-in-human-form”; through learning of Him, we learn how Godliness translates into human behavior) THROUGH:
REGULAR WORSHIP (worshipping together feeds our spirit and gives us a rootedness with the people of God);
REGULAR STUDY AND PRAYER (we are called always to learn more of God through study and to draw closer to God through prayer);
FELLOWHIP, SHARING AND COMMUNITY-BUILDING (our religion is not only an individual question, but is rooted in the community; our growth as children of God is dependent upon the love and caring of and for others);
SERVICE AND OUTREACH (ours is not a spectator faith – every Christian is called to be Christ in his or her environment and to support other Christians in their ministry); AND
GIVING (God gives everything to us; we need to return a portion of these gifts to God through our offerings of time, talent, and income).
