The Reverend Susan D. Parsons

The Reverend Susan D. Parsons, the Interim Rector at St. Francis, joined the staff in July 2004 and became the Associate Rector in December of that year after her ordination to the priesthood at Grace Cathedral. She was elected Interim Rector in January 2010.
After graduating from Church Divinity School of the Pacific, she attended Oxford University where she did post-graduate work at St. Stephens House in Anglo-Catholic Studies. She also spent a year in training as a Hospital Chaplain at Marin General Hospital. Other internships included a year at Church of the Advent of Christ the King in San Francisco and a term at Magdalene College in Oxford.
In addition to her work at St. Francis, Susan serves on the Board of Bishop’s Ranch and St. Francis Preschool and serves as a Spirit on Cursillo weekends as time allows.
Other interests include reading, cooking and what could only loosely be called ‘gardening.’
Susan has a ‘mixed’ marriage; she is married to a Lutheran pastor The Rev. Bruce Murphy, the Chaplain at Marin General Hospital and has two daughters, Jennifer Tantillo and Diana Stoltzfus and a granddaughter Charlotte Tantillo.
